World of Perishables (WOP) Dubai

Now in its’ third year, this international Expo is quickly establishing itself as a major event in the Middle East, particularly with the support and patronage of the ruling family.

The show covers everything from fresh produce through safety and technical equipment to logistics and is attracting increasing numbers to visitors, not only from the Middle East but also Europe, Asia and South America. Pommies are already exporting containers of fresh potatoes to Dubai, and Trading Manager, Susann Ktelil, met with her customer to discuss exciting new potential to expand the business.

A visit was organised to the huge fresh market in Dubai, where, because of the heat, every stall has a cold store attached. The market is expanding and currently under construction are specialist areas dedicated to potatoes and onions.

Susann took advantage of her visit to meet a number of other importers, making interesting contacts which she is sure will lead to sales opportunities in the near future.
