We are now treating our own seed crops with their first aphicide. We are doing this on the basis of three pieces of information.



1. Aphid traps we have placed in our crops and sent to CSL for identification and counting.



2. SASA trap information.



3. Our own crop inspection.



The last source of information is the most important and confirms the presence of aphids for the first time.



The SASA dataset is useful and indicates high numbers in many seed production areas.



We are using Aphox as a first spray as predator numbers are high and we would certainly wish to preserve their numbers. We will probably use Plenum as a second spray when necessary.
